PET & rPET

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is the standard resin for bottles, food trays and polyester fibre. Recycled PET (rPET) comes as washed flake or as pellets from bottle collection and reprocessing.

Frequently asked questions

What does IV mean for PET?

Intrinsic viscosity (IV) relates to the molecular weight of PET. Bottle grades need a higher IV for strength and blowing. Fibre grades use a lower IV.

Which rPET flake qualities can you supply?

Flake is offered with a stated colour and agreed limits for PVC, glue, moisture and other contaminants. We share the supplier’s parameters with the offer so you can check them against your line.

Is rPET food-contact approved?

Only specific rPET produced in an approved recycling process can be used for food contact. If you need it, say so in the enquiry. We quote only material whose status the supplier documents.
